Bizarre Animal's !!!

 
This bizarre creature is an artists rendition of Helioceras heteromorph, a type of ammonite of the suborder Ancyloceratina. They lived during the Jurassic and Cretaceous periods.

The Butterfly of the Sea: Red Gurnard 
The Red Gurnard (Chelidonichthys spinosus)is one of 100 different species of Sea Robins, or Gurnards. These fantastic fish are normally found on the sea floor at depths of around 660 ft. They have a special set of 'wings,' which are actually just beautiful pectoral fins, that allow them to "fly" through the water. They also possess six spiny feet that allow them to walk across the ocean floor in search of food.

The family Phylliidae (often misspelled Phyllidae) contains the extant true leaf insects or walking leaves, which include some of the most remarkable leaf mimics in the entire animal kingdom. They occur from South Asia through Southeast Asia to Australia. At present, there is no consensus as to the preferred classification of this group; some sources treat Phylliidae as a much larger taxon, containing the members of what are presently considered to be several different families.



 

The ocean sunfish, Mola mola, or common mola, is the heaviest known bony fish in the world. It has an average adult weight of 1,000 kg. The species is native to tropical and temperate waters around the globe. The diet of the ocean sunfish consists primarily of various jellyfish. It also consumes salps, squid, crustaceans, small fish, fish larvae, and eel grass. Ocean sunfish are vulnerable to few natural predators, but sea lions, orcas and sharks will consume them




The Piglet squid, Helicocranchia pfefferi, is roughly the size of a small avocado, and is common in the deep water of virtually all oceans, living at depths of around 100m/320ft.
Its body is almost totally clear so that it reveals the dark-coloured internal organs. The piglet squid is a sluggish swimmer with ammonium ions in its body fluid that helps keep it bouyant. A large light-producing organ (photophore) is located beneath each of its large eyes.
